Carabiners are, basically, the specialized loop or shackle to hold and connect objects together. These are mostly used in critical systems or facility to ensure safety. This is the short form of german word Karabinerhaken which means "spring hook". Earlier, Riflemen used it to attach their carabiners to the belt. Most of the carabiners are used by pushing the opening gate inside, connect your object and release the gate to establish a safe connection.

Rope intensive activities made popular the use of carabiners like climbing, rappelling, construction, window cleaning etc. Carabiners are usually made up of steel and aluminium.  Adventure Rocks Pvt Ltd  is the leading manufacturer of  Adventure Sports equipment. You buy easily buy premium quality stuff at an affordable cost.

Now let’s get into the variety of carabiners to choose the right for you.

  • Oval-Shaped

This one’s quite popular with the multi-purpose functionality. It provides you with decent space to attach more you gears. It keeps steady during climbing, as it balances your weight in a centre.

  • D-Shaped

Climbers prefer more D-shaped carabiner that Oval because it can shift weight easily away from the gate. You’ll find more strengths in D-shaped carabiner compared to Oval ones. These carabiners are designed to be lighter in weight and smaller in size.

  • Pear-Shaped

These carabiners are mainly prefered when during belaying and rappeling. You can easily connect your weight rope or gears, due to its wide opening. When you compare them with D-shaped, they lack a bit of strength.

  • Screw Lock or Screw Carabiner

Screw carabiners are widely used by Climbers. Its opening gate is manually screwed to lock the gate. These are the safest carabiners, that can be used in a challenging environment.

The only problem with them is that they take a considerable amount of time to be locked. And a bit of risk is always attached of forgetting to tightly screw your carabiner.

  • Straight gate or Plain Carabiner

We should never use these carabiners for climbing purposes. These don’t get locked, so very unsafe for adventure activities. They’re easy to open, shuts instantly because of their spring gates.

  • Double Lock

First, you need to rotate the sleeves, and secondly Push the lock inwards. When you release the lock, it’ll get closed automatically. These are quick and easy to use. They’re more secure than other carabiners but less secure than Triple Lock.

  • Triple Action (Auto Lock)

You need to perform three steps to unlock your carabiner. First, Move your sleeve either in an upward or downward direction. Secondly, rotate your Sleeve manually. And last, draw inward your lock. And it gets automatically locked when you release it.

They’re safest carabiners, and if you forget to lock, that won’t create an issue, coz it gets locked automatically.
